REPORT ON WAGES AND HOURS OF WORK OF AHUE OPERATIVES

IN HONG KONG.

The following has been prepared from information

obtained from all the Hong Kong rubber shoe manufacturers.

Owing to slight differences in the rates of pay in the

various factories average rates have been taken. The figures

refer to the ordinary type of cheap rubber shoe.

All skilled female labour is paid by piecework,

and the rates of pay vary according to the class of work.

machine stitching of canvas uppers is done by outside labour,

women and girls.
